Extreme Re-Branding Makeover

We know, we know...we're a little late today. But, it's just been that crazy today. We're not doing a Wedding post today, but we promise this is just as exciting!

We're SOOOO ready to unveil the new design of our website/blog, but we're still working on the kinks, may take another week or so before it's exposed. But, in the meantime...check this out!

When we started the business back in 2008, I'm not sure I really thought out the design of our site all that well. At the time, I wanted an all flash site with a lot of animation, clearly that's what I got :-) I've received a lot of feedback (mostly good, but some constructive) about our current site over the past two years, and I'm finally admitting, it's a little too busy for my own taste. If you haven't already noticed, we love clean lines and a lot of symmetry. For example, when we fall in love with an asymmetrical floral design, we'll tweak the overall design to show some symmetry. That's just us, and we're hoping this new site will portrays us. We're curious to hear what all our readers and client's have to say about it, when we unveil in a couple of weeks, but for now we'll tell you (from a technical standpoint) what we've worked hard on achieving with this new site. The size of our images will be bigger. Not necessarily on the flash portion of the site, but on the blog. It has a more relaxed and casual feel to it, and the new colors SO reflect that. Here's our old logo:

No, we're not going to reveal the new colors of the website/blog just yet...not all of them anyway :-) We will say however, that we've gone with a very clean and professional blog design...Good Bye Blogger! We just LOVE our new monogram logo and text logo. It resembles our style and what we do perfectly:

We just want to get it up and running! When we officially unveil it, we'll be crediting our amazing web designer and making reference of the custom design template we went with. Stay here...see ya Monday!

Mala & Mitchell Part II (Reception)

On we go, with Mala and Mitch’s Reception décor. There was no end to the ideas that came pouring out of this SG bride, or out of her Wedding scrap book for that matter! We almost wished she had 4 other events to go along with the 4 she had so we could incorporate them all! We’re not going to rave and rant about each and every one, but we will say our favorite was the elaborate Floral and Crystal Chandelier Treatments she wanted done for the Reception. We hung Orchids and Crystals over the four main chandeliers of the ballroom. Two of the chandeliers fell directly over the “X” table formations on each side of the room, which created elaborate centerpieces for those tables. Take a look at the details of their Reception, and go ahead, swoon along with us.

Mala & Mitchell Part I (Wedding)

We have been over the moon excited about this Wedding. Seriously. Maybe it was because the concept of this Wedding was ultra unique and nothing like anything we've created in the past. Mala & Mitch came to us late last year, with an inspiration of wanting the feel of a Zen Wedding. They envisioned an Asian inspired spa setting for their Zen Mandap. We custom created a Wooden Mandap using a Rich Mahogany Wood, which not only gave it that Asian garden feel, but was the perfect compliment to the perfect location.

The Doubletree Resort, in Orlando, FL was that serene and tranquil setting which set the mood for the entire weekend. The main lobby of the Resort, which lead to the Ceremony Room, was built on Hardwood Mahogany floors with a soothing atmosphere of gentle music and trickling water. The Mandap and Catholic Alter were designed with hanging vine-like Lime Green and Magenta Dendrobium Orchids with low Rajashani style Mandap furniture, to add a touch of tradition.

Our favorite part about this design was the Aisle. Nothing gets across the feel of a Zen Wedding like the sight of hundreds of candles and single orchid blooms swimming in water. We lined a 50ft Aisle with hanging glass globes with lilies, floating candles and orchids to create one long focal point as M&M made their way to the Mandap. They exchanged their Vows in a Catholic Ceremony in the morning and then again during a traditional Hindu Ceremony in the afternoon.

Their Lime Green and Magenta color palette was carried throughout the wedding. We could go on and on and on about the well thought out details of this entire Wedding, but that would seriously take days! We'll leave you with these astonishing images by Andrew Milne, from Andrew Milne Photography, which will only leave you feeling like escaping to a Spa of eternal bliss.

Did we ever mention how much we love our job? And, did we ever mention that one of the reasons we love our jobs so much is because we get to work with some really cool people? Mala and Mitch were "that" really cool couple who we got to work with last weekend. They had an amazing Wedding bash. Like, super duper amazing.

This was a Wedding we were looking forward to, even before we were contracted for the job...haha. And once we were contracted for the job, the process of designing their Wedding was just how we imagined it to be...effortless. Effortless because Mala knew EXACTLY what she wanted...to every last detail.

We have been slammed with work since we got back last week, but we promise to get their images up just as soon as possible. In the meantime, please enjoy this teaser shot of their Reception.

Ekta & Dino Part II (Cocktail Reception)

Ekta & Dino's Wedding Ceremony was followed by a classy, yet informal Cocktail Reception on the serene Dig Deck. This Reception was not the only thing their guests were waiting in anticipation for after the Wedding. E&D, along with our dear friend and their event coordinator, Sonal Shah from Sonal J. Consultants, had a night full of dancing & drinking and more dancing & drinking planned at the Aura Night Club, located inside the Atlantis. All of E&D's friends and cousins gathered at the Aura Night Club, to dance the night away.

E&D concluded their Wedding Extravaganza with a bang and of course hired world renowned DJ Bosco, all the way from Mumbai, India to put this 4 day affair over the top. He had these two families partying till the wee hours of the morning. DJ Bosco has performed for Abhishek Bachan and Ashwariya Rai's Sangeet/Wedding, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hritik Roshan's Birthday Parties at some of the World's Hottest Nightclubs (just sayin'). Need we say more?!?!

All the events aboard Carnival Cruise Lines were coordinated and planned by the eloquent Su Patel from Cruises Plus. BIG Thanks to the entire team at Cruises Plus and Carnival, for the flawless execution and assistance provided to the SG Team aboard the ship.

We Love Us...

There's a slight (but quick) interruption between blogging about Ekta & Dino's Wedding weekend, only because today marks the day we began our very own 4-Day weekend of Wedding Celebrations, 3 Years ago. Really, are we celebrating 3 Years already? Happy Anniversary to Us :-)

Ekta & Dino Part I (Wedding)

Many apologies for the slight delay in this blog post, but we're pretty sure the images of this Wedding were worth the wait. So, without further ado...here's the start of something goooooood :-)

Ekta & Dino grouped a team of National and an International Wedding Vendors for their once in a life-time celebration. It was an absolute honor for the SG Team to be a part of this fantastic collaboration and experience. As we blog about this phenomenal affair, we'll make mention of some of the celebrity vendors that were in our presence for E&D's big day!

You may have heard of the ultimate mother/daughter duo of the "Mehndi World", Usha Shah and Ekta Shah Kansara. We had the pleasure of meeting them and seeing their work in person last weekend. Ekta and Usha, originally from Mumbai, India, traveled from Michigan to do Ekta's (Bride) Mehndi. The duo together have been known to design Mehndi (Henna) for some of Bollywood and Hollywood's famous film personalities, namely Kajol, Sangeeta Bijlani, Jessica Simpson and Demi Moore, just to name a few.

Ekta & Dino were married at the beautiful Atlantis, Paradise Island in Nassau Bahamas. With 350 guests in attendance, the Ceremony took place in the Grand Lawn. With the intention of giving their family and friends a Wedding celebration that would be impossible to forget, E&D managed to select one of the most luxurious Destination Wedding sites possible.

Can we just say luck was all over E&D's big day. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and they couldn't have asked for anything more. Big Thanks to the entire Atlantis crew for their assistance and flawless execution of this event.

Ekta's hair and make-up was done by Edin Carpenter, who traveled from California.

This Wedding had been a non-stop 3 months in the making and seems to have come and gone by in a flash. Cruisin' to the Bahamas...

In 4 days, we're departing for the highly anticipated Cruise/Destination Wedding, which we've been glued to planning for the past three months. We're off to the Bahamas, via Carnival Cruise Lines "Imagination" ship. This is not only the first Cruise Wedding experience for the SG Team, but also the first Destination Wedding! Half of the SG Team will be boarding the ship on Friday morning, along with 350 of Ekta & Dino's guests who have traveled from all over the country to celebrate with them, while the other half of our team will be flying directly to the Bahamas to initiate the Wedding Preps. Their Wedding Extravaganza (literally) will start off with a Welcome Reception on Thursday evening at the Rusty Pelican, followed by a Mehndi and Sangeet Party on the ship on Friday evening. They'll wed at the world renowned Tropical Resort, Atlantis in Paradise Island, Nassau Bahamas on Saturday evening, which will be followed by a Cocktail Reception (also at the Atlantis). And, they'll conclude their 5 day affair on Sunday with a formal Dinner and Dance back on the ship.

We can hardly wait to share the beautiful images with all of you when we return next week. Our scheduled blog post on Monday may be slightly postponed until Tuesday, but Tuesday's going to be gooooooood! Check back soon :-)

Zarina & Ali Part II (Wedding)

So random, but needs to be said only because today is Thursday and I'm so excited that my two favorite American Idol contestants (Siobhan Magnus and Lee Dewyze) made it through last night! Which reminds me, remember Ramiele Malubay? AI Top 12 Finalist from Season 7? She was among the 400 guests who witnessed Zarina and Ali exchange their Wedding vows. So exciting!

Ok, now onto regularly scheduled programming...We have many wild ideas running through our heads all the time, some of which keep us up at night dreaming away. Zarina and Ali's enchanted forest-like Wedding design idea came to us while we were vacationing in Kenya last summer. Everything about this dreamy design shouts modern and classy! And, as an added bonus we were able to blend this design in with their chosen colors so easily.

Z&A, although not customary for a Pakistani Weddings, wanted to incorporate Black into the color palette for their ceremony, and it was absolutely STUNNING! We paired Black up with Red and Gold, which captured the colorful essence of their traditional ceremony. The Black crystal trees were staggered through the aisle, with blooms of Roses tied sparsely throughout the branches. The trees were the startling focal points down the aisle leading up to the stage, and were adorned with hanging Swarovski crystals and Candles.

Congratulations Zarina and Ali on a beautiful ceremony! We wish you both all the best.

It's Monday again, and we're so happy to start this week off with a blog post about one of our all time favorite clients. We couldn't have been happier to have been asked to design Zarina and Ali's Wedding events. Zarina and her family are truly some of the nicest people we've met post-SG.

Zarina gave us the freedom to design. It allowed us to have fun with her events and be extra creative. She came to us early last year, having heard about us through a publication that we advertise in, Desh Videsh. Her vision for the Mehndi was something vibrant and colorful so we went with our Arabian Nights theme.

Neeru & Lohith Part I (Wedding)

We're kicking off March with two scheduled blog posts per week (one every Monday and the other every Thursday) as promised. Last week was a trial run - Success! As promised a couple of blog posts ago, we're going to make a serious effort to keep on our toes with this blog, so we've picked two random days of the week to get us started. Who knows? If we have the time and feel the need to share something a little extra in between, we'll throw that in too. Here goes...

Today we're congratulating Neeru and Lohith on tying the knot in a beautiful outdoor Wedding Ceremony which was held at the Ballen Isles Country Club, in West Palm Beach. We truly lucked out with this couple, not only because we absolutely love working at Country Clubs but also because we got the chance to work with a pair of brilliant doctors who were super laid back and fun loving. Both N&L have ridiculously busy lives living in New York, but between work and play, they managed to successfully plan their Florida Wedding.

Brief Update...New Warehouse!

After two memorable years, of maneuvering our inventory in and out of our South Florida office/storage/work space, we decided to put a stop to this sometimes madness, and separate our office from our storage. We signed the lease of our new warehouse last week, and spent our entire Sunday moving everything over. And, for the most part, its all done. Phew! We've always tried to be super organized (even within our limited space), but we have to admit we finally feel like we can be a bit more efficient, as we no longer have to worry about losing a stack boxes within a stack of boxes. Chaos.

While we will still be conducting consultations at our original location, we will now be housing all of our inventory in this bigger more functional space that will most likely keep us a little more sane :-) Oh, and we're still maintaining (and slightly restructuring) our existing showroom (separate from the office and warehouse), so drop by and see us.

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

We can't believe it'll be our Second Anniversary in two weeks! We decided to post this blog a couple of weeks early, because we have some exciting Weddings coming up at the beginning of March and thought we'd give them the spotlight on our blog then. Two years ago when we started the business, I could have only dreamt that we would be where we are today. We incorporated the business in March of 2008, and as I sit here and think of how all this happened, I can't help but blame my loving parent's and husband for giving me the help and support I needed to live my dream.

To our readers and client's, we say thank you! This ride has been fun and full of surprises, experiences and new ventures, because of you. Thank you for the continued support, blog-love, and interest in what we do. We've recently received some interest from some of you wanting to become a part of the SG Team, and I just want to take a second to say that we appreciate it. As we continue to grow we will certainly keep you all in mind. We have new adventures to experience this year, and we only see good things, to say the least.

When we started this blog, we had all the right hopes of maintaining it without a problem. Our intentions were to blog at least once a week, but there has clearly been times where it has been in hibernation for more than that. Many times we get so wrapped up in the balance between work and life, that there hasn't been room for anything else. But, with the continued support we've received on this blog, we have all the reason to make it happen. Going forward we will be blogging more about the day to day happenings in the SG world, maybe a bit about our personal lives and of course continue to feature the beautiful Weddings & Events of our wonderful clients. Check back often...

Carrie & Deepak (Wedding)

At last, we're blogging about Carrie and Deepak's wedding!!! We absolutely adored working with this couple because of their beautiful personalities. Carrie and Deepak were referred to us by a college friend, Lina Patel so here's a BIGGGG thanks to her for sending Carrie and Deepak our way :-) After having lived in Tampa for so many years, I finally got to appreciate the beautiful Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina. (If you're planning a wedding in Tampa, be sure to check out this venue!)

Yet another set of trusting personalities we catered to. When Carrie, a Registered Nurse and Deepak, a Pharmacist came to us they asked for a simple but classic Maroon, Gold and White design. We knew instantly that we could create such a design with our Acrylic Mandap.

Since the outbreak of the infamous JK Wedding Entrance Dance, we were leaping with anticipation of when we would see the first Indian Wedding version (who wasn't, right?). Well, they did it, and we missed it in all of our madness of the weekend :-( In October of last year we witnessed the Bridal Party for Bijal & Shitel dance into their Wedding with a super hilarious entrance, and shortly thereafter Carrie & Deepak's Bridal Party choreographed, from what we heard, an equally entertaining entrance for their Reception! Bela and Khurram (Mehndi & Wedding)

UPDATE (01.25.2010): We received beautiful images from Amna Hakim, Bela & Khurram's Wedding Photographer (www.amnahakim.com) who traveled all the way from Ottowa, Ontario to capture B&K's 3 day wedding celebrations :-) Although, we only got a few moments to meet Amna, we could immediately sense how personable and warm her personality was, not to mention how extremely talented she is. We're super excited to have worked with her and we're sure this won't be the last you'll see of our work combined with hers :-) ENJOY!

We're officially frozen! There we said it. We're almost at the Southern most tip of the Sunshine State and we experienced some snow flurries this weekend :-) Yes, we're smiling about that, but not for long...when will it be warm again?

We're indoors now, the heaters are on and all we can think about is how beautiful Bela and Khurram's wedding events were this past weekend. With over 500 guests in attendance, B&K tied the knot at the Signature Grand, in Davie, FL. Bela was referred to us by her best friend Beenish, who we can't thank enough for sending our way.

There's nothing more exciting than working with a very sweet and easy going bride. From the day B&K came to our showroom, to the day of their wedding we were constantly reminded of how comfortable they were with the decor being left in our hands :-) We're always reminded of how much we love what we do, when a bride takes a second to call us amidst all the weekend madness to thank us for making her dream come true. Congratulations Bela & Khurram!!!

Show Stopper

The pairing of a Lotus inspired, Spiral Acrylic Mandap, with hanging Swarovski crystals, rich fabric draping and a simple floral design would be my absolute fairy tale Mandap, if I were to re-marry my wonderful husband today. Early last year, one of the designers on the SG Team undertook this show stopping design that would send any bride over the edge and undoubtedly make heads turn.

We've finally cleared customs and are so psyched about this innovative 2010 Mandap design...we just couldn't be happier with it!!! So, after all this are we going to reveal any pictures? Sorry, not on the web (this is just a tease)...you'll have to wait until we blog about the hottest couple of the year OR schedule a consultation with us :-)

Gaurav & Ruchi (Reception)

This new year already brings us so much excitement and so much to blog about. We were up in Orlando this weekend for Gaurav & Ruchi's Wedding Reception at the dreamy Gaylord Palms Hotel and Convention Center, in Orlando, Florida. This venue was love at first sight for me personally, when I saw the hotel.

There's no other venue that defines an "indoor-outdoor" experience better than this one. The view from almost every room is spectacular and the fabulous crew led by Pamela Decker and Cindy Saunders (www.signatureweddingsorlando.com), were just a joy to work with. We're counting down the days, until we can design our next event at Gaylord.

We can't blog about this couple, without sharing how we met their families. It was back in March of 2009 when we were driving around Orlando and stumbled across a beautiful jewelery store. While window shopping, we had the pleasure of meeting Mukesh and Sudha Patel, owners of Vaibhav Jewelers (www.vaibhavjewellers.net). A few months later we met again, at Seema & Ian's wedding in Cocoa Beach. And then we received a pleasant call from them asking us to make a special trip to Orlando to meet the Mathur Family, who were planning their son's Reception. And finally, here we are today showing some blog love to Sudha Aunty and Mukesh Uncle for this referral! (No wonder we LOVE referrals :-))

A BIG Congratulations are in order for the new Mr. & Mrs. We have a true love for simple, elegant and classic designs, so Trishna and Kunal's Wedding design is definitely one that will be tagged as a a favorite in the SG household. Eveything about this wedding was so heartfelt but, what put us over the edge, was the perfectly recorded audio vows between T&K, which Trishna walked down the aisle to. We were blown away!

Hameant Raghubir, the Event Manager at the Marriott in Lake Mary, Orlando and his entire team certainly did not disappoint either. The service was just outstanding!

Deepka & Suraj (Cocktail Party & Sangeet)

We're ending 2009 with a blog post filled with detailed images from Deepka & Suraj's to die for Sangeet. One of the reasons we love Sangeets is because they really are another excuse to celebrate, eat great food and of course pick out that third or fourth dress you fell head over heels for. I must admit, it was when we purchased my Sangeet ensemble, that I switched gears into overly excited for my own wedding.

Deepka & Suraj's Destination Wedding extravaganza had us swooning with excitement. We had the privilege of designing their Cocktail Party which was held at the Eden Roc on Miami Beach and the Sangeet which was held at the Ritz Carlton in Miami Beach, Fl. Deepka and Shalini, Suraj's mom had thoroughly thought out what they had envisioned for this night, and they didn't let one idea slip away. And although a bit cliche, when it comes to a Wedding event, its all about the details. From the mini luxury tents, to the serpentine low seating around the dance floor and the ambiance of the perimeter lighting, we were able to capture a true Moroccan inspired evening for them which they enjoyed till the wee hours of the night.

For the very first time, we had the honor of working with Sonal J Shah Event Consultants (www.sjsevents.com) from New York and her fantastical team, who flawlessly planned and executed the week long events. We highly recommend Sonal for anyone looking for a wedding planner, who maintains professionalism and has the utmost expertise in planning South Asian weddings. We can't wait to work with her again in January.

Drumroll please...for the artist behind this lens. Not only do we have an amazing experience to blog about, but we have pretty amazing images to go with it. Andrew, from Andrew Milne Photography (www.andrewmilnephotography.com) is, in one word, incredible. We called upon Andrew to take some detailed shots of the decor for us, and he totally outdid himself once again.

We're logging on this morning to send a heartfelt thanks to all our loyal blog readers and client's who have made 2009 a memorable and successful one for us. This was our first full year in business, and we can't express our gratitude enough to our client's who trusted us to make their events so special. We still have a quite a few events to blog about, but we promise to get to them all very soon. Right now, we're so stoked to finally officially announce the opening of our newest ORLANDO design studio located at 9848 American Eagle Way, on the intersection of SR 528 and Orange Blossom Trail. You may remember these familiar faces from when we designed and blogged about their Engagement Party early this year. Well, its already that time...we're now blogging about their Wedding celebrations. Payal and Nilesh got married at the Hilton, in Deerfield Beach, FL with the Ceremony and Reception both taking place in the beautiful Grand Ballroom.

Payal is definitely a girly girl, who was overly excited about pulling off the most romantic, elegant "with a touch of pink", wedding of her dreams. From the combination of hanging crystals in the aisle and red fabric draping in the Mandap to LOTS (and by LOTS we mean over 200) hanging candles for the Reception decor, we were able to achieve that magical ambiance, just the way Payal envisioned it. We were so happy to hear all the kind words that Payal and Nilesh had for us after the event, that we couldn't wait to write about how honored we were to have been a part of their Celebrations. Neha & Nirav's Wedding Featured on Maharani Weddings!

A few months ago, we stumbled upon this incredibly entertaining wedding blog, which we have stalked ever since. We've since gotten several emails/FB messages and texts from friends and clients about various vendors featured on this uber cool blog. And sure enough, it was our turn when Shawna the mastermind behind this successful idea, contacted us a few months ago to ask us if we'd be interested in becoming a part of their exclusive Platinum Guide for Top South Asian Wedding Professionals. And boy, were we thrilled to say yes! Halloween came and went as did Christina and Kushal's divine Wedding Celebrations that they had been planning for well over a year. It was this very weekend, last year when we first heard about Christina and Kushal's exciting plans of getting married on Halloween 2009! Time flies when you're having fun (or wedding planning:-)). The Garba took place at the Plantation Conference Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL and the Wedding took place at the beautiful Signature Grand in Davie, FL.

While juggling a graduation, board exams and planning a wedding, Christina, a Physician's Assistant and Kushal, a Medical Resident left much of the design of their Wedding in our hands. A Pink and Orange color palette with an accent of Burgundy was the inspiration for this Wedding. We used Pink Stargazers and Orange & Red Roses to design her Gold Mandap. Christina had a few unique ideas for their Garba, which we were just thrilled to execute. She wanted to give our Ghamthi (Indian Village) theme a twist and create a Bazaar (Indian Market) like feel, where she could have someone "sell" Bangles, Bindi's & Dandyas as keepsakes for her guests (what an awesome idea, right!). We created this section of the Garba, with utmost detail, as she was very particular about the decor being able to set the mood for that fun-filled, busy, informal night of festivities.

We have to say, that this has got to be one of our most versatile themes, because of the twists we're able to custom create with it and still make it unique to each couple. Even the modern Indian Bride and Groom can appreciate these fun Garba images!

Here to 2009's boldest and most daring Indian Bride! So, we'll preface this post by saying that one of the reasons we don't advertise in many publications is because we receive 95% of our business through referrals and Bijal & Shitel were no different. Hence, it's no secret why we constantly chant about how much we LOVE referrals.

Bijal came to us late last year with the most unique Wedding colors we've worked with yet, Indigo Blue and Fuchsia. But, we have to say, within 5 minutes of having met her, her bold choice of colors all made sense. This daring (and super hilarious) bride wanted nothing short of a nontraditional, totally glamorous and chic event design that complemented her stylish bridal ensemble and we were up for the challenge!

Bijal, an Interior Designer and Shitel, a Surgeon in Washington D.C., started planning their wedding over a year ago. We have been over the moon excited about this wedding, so we'll be blogging less about the couple and more about their 3 day/5 event epic wedding extravaganza.

All 5 of their events took place at the Marriott, West Palm Beach, FL. (And, we can't blog about this couple, without raving about the fantabulous and completely accommodating crew at the Marriott!).

For the Ceremony we used a combination of Fuchsia and Lavender Roses, Blue Hydrangeas and Blue Orchids. We created a new design with our Acrylic Mandap, for B&S, which was designed with Indigo Blue satin drapes and Swarovski crystal chandeliers. The couple's hanging aisle was adorned with hanging Orchid Leis and Pomander Balls.

All of Bijal's Wedding dresses were Stunning! But, we have to say our favorite was her Reception dress! We've worked with the Teal color quite a bit this year, but it's one of those colors that just doesn't get old. We've seen some of our favorite Reception dresses in that color! We infused some Peacock accents into the Reception decor, which was complemented with beautiful Teal table linens and Fuchsia perimeter lighting. For now, we only have images of the decor, however as soon as we get some images from Bijal's official Wedding Photographer, we'll be posting pictures of the beautiful couple and their to die for outfits...stay tuned!

This year our Diwali celebrations have tripled, because we're not only celebrating Diwali, but we're also celebrating my brother and sister-in-law's 1 year Wedding Anniversary and my sister and brother-in-law's 1 year Wedding Anniversary. Diwali Weddings are by far the coolest Weddings to host and attend. This festival of lights, brings together your entire family for a dual purpose celebration of love, laughter and togetherness which gives your family and friends an extra special reason to travel for your wedding! Happy Diwali to ALL!

We'd like to give a BIG shout out to one of our favorite photographers, Andrena Douglass (www.andrenaphoto.com). We haven't had the pleasure of working with her yet, nor have we ever met her. We stumbled across a feature on her work about 6 months ago and have been mesmerized by what she does ever since. In fact, if you recall we featured her on our very first SG Superlative Monday's blog post (which we realize is still in hibernation :-(). She's traveled across the world (literally) to shoot Indian Weddings, and has been featured in so many different publications (The Knot Weddings, Grace Ormond Wedding Style, LA Times, Inside Weddings, Beautiful Weddings (UK) and the list goes on and on). Needless to say, we were STOKED! She is not only absolutely brilliant at what she does, but is so cool and so very nice. We're determined (ok at least wishing) that we can spread the word about her work through our blog, and get her to come shoot one of our weddings in FL.

UPDATE (10.02.2009): We're always filled with anticipation when an amazing photographer takes shots of our setups. We've heard so many great things about Naz and Seema Samji owners of Zamana Lifestyles (www.zamanaphoto.com), that we were so thrilled to finally meet them when they stopped by our booth at the My Shaadi Bridal Expo a few weeks ago. The following week we met Naz and Seema again, at the Bridal Show in Tampa. We expected nothing less than some amazing shots of our setup again, and of course they delivered. So without further ado here's a sneak peak of our design.

The design of this Mandap was based on a Black and White color palette with an accent of Burgundy. We have been craving an opportunity to design a Reception which complements a Black and White color scheme, but have had no such luck yet, so we took this opportunity to design a Reception Stage at this Bridal Show to help our clients envision this hip, chic and totally classy look. How about that Black and White Tie Affair, ladies?

We feel so honored to have been offered a booth on behalf of the Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina, in Tampa, FL for their VERY FIRST Bridal Expo this month. Geez, It's Been A While...

...Since we've shared a bit of anything with all our readers...many apologies! We haven't been socializing via blog lately because we've been on the road quite a bunch doing bridal shows and final site inspections for our October/November brides. Summer's over, and we're gearing up for a couple of super duper busy months, which we are really excited about!

We don't want to give away too much about the upcoming weddings or couple's we've been working so hard with, but we can't stress how unique and different each of our October/November brides are. We've got many "firsts" coming up (which we will be blogging about after each event)...from our First Bold Wedding Color Design, to our First Destination Wedding Design to our First Wedding on the West Coast, these weddings just can't come fast enough! The more we talk about this, the harder it is to keep them all a secret, so we'll make it a point to log off now, but don't forget to catch up with us periodically until the end of the year. It's almost 2010!

UPDATE (09.05.2009): We're back with what is probably a sore attempt of selecting "the best" of our collaborative effort of 4000+ pictures from our epic tour of Kenya. We tried to select just a few images from each part of our vacation, but it was nearly impossible to limit this post to under 15 images as you can clearly see below.

We just thought we'd drop in to post a quick note about our most amazing experience/vacation ever! We can honestly say our once in a life-time dream trip to Kenya fulfilled every expectation and so much more, which we have no other than our AMAZING parent's to thank for!!! For me personally, this was the most important and meaningful trip of my life. After having left Kenya almost 15 years ago, our parent's took us on a two week tour to relive not only our own childhood memories but theirs and our grandparents' memories as well. Between re-visitng all of our first homes, hospitals we were born in, kindergartens and middle schools, our grandfather's first home, to where our parent's first met and the temple they were married at, we still managed to be tourists one last time in Kenya with the Game Drives of Masai Mara, the resorts of Mombasa and the boat rides of infamous Lake Nakuru and Lake Navaisha. This trip truly defined a full circle for our family. We have thousands of pictures to share, of which we will definitely post a few of on our blog...stay here (coming soon)!

In the meantime, we've promised a few of our July brides that we'll catch up on blog with images of their events by the end of this week, so we're getting straight to that :-)

Here's a BIG SHOUT OUT to Rakhee Patel for referring one of her best friends to us! We always say it but, we'll say it again..We LOVE referrals!

We were back in Cocoa Beach, but this time for Seema and Ian's Wedding Celebrations. When we called Rakhee to thank her for this referral she told us that Seema would probably be one of the most easy going brides we would be working with and (lucky for us) she was absolutely right! Super organized, responsive, detail oriented and so laid back. She wanted something unique, within budget and was open to absolutely any ideas we threw at her.

With a jam packed day of events, they started the morning with the Indian Wedding Ceremony. Later that afternoon, they pronounced their vows again in a traditional Civil Ceremony which led into their Wedding Reception. So, we had a full day of room transformations going on :-)

Yet another one of our brides is an Attorney (3 this month...yeah, girl power!) litigating cases in the heart of New York City. And yet, another groom we never got a chance to meet until the day of the wedding :-( (Is there a pattern to this?).

Thank you Seema and Ian for allowing us to be a part of all your wedding events and Congratulations to you both on tying the knot!

So, we've never done this before, but we just couldn't resist. We've seen a numerous amount of fun Engagement Photo Shoots, but Sara & Tareque's topped the list. Talk about hilarious! We're starting this post, with an image from their Engagement Photo Shoot only because it clear describes their personalities...ENJOY!

BIG THANKS to one of our March '09 brides, Subrina Ali for putting in some kind words about us, and sending Sara our way :-)

We were all smiles for S&T after their LONG (and we mean LOOOOOONG - 9 years) dating relationship finally turned into a "tying the knot" scenario this past July :-) Sara is not exactly on "our" time zone. She works nights, as an RN, and sleeps during the day, so it was quite impressive that she managed to juggle planning her wedding so meticulously. If there were a bride that we could call/text/IM/email/facebook at any hour of the night and still expect a response from, it would be this bride.

You wouldn't believe us if we told you how many times Sara changed her mind about what she wanted for her wedding decor. Much to our liking, she was probably the one bride that we've worked with who knew what she didn't want (or better yet knew exactly what she wanted)! Excuse our lack of knowledge about Bengali Weddings, but we were totally blind sighted by the heaps of gift giving that went on during S&T's Holud ceremony (OMG!). It was no wonder whenever we spoke to Sara, she was at the mall :-)

We must congratulate Tareque on his recent Graduation! We wish them nothing but the best. Thank You AGAIN for allowing us to design your special day!

HUGE Congratulations are in order for our two Cocoa Beach couples Shivali & Jan and Seema & Ian AND our West Palm Beach couple Sara & Tareque on their beautiful weddings this month. We apologize about being a little behind on blog (in advance) but there just hasn't been enough hours this month to be on top of things. We've been dying to blog about this couple, mainly so that we can publicly announce that Akash gets the proposal of the year award! How did we come to know this couple? Well, the good 'ole Facebook brought them to us. With pictures and comments circulating across our friends' pages on Facebook, we learnt the beautiful and unique story of Akash's proposal to Heena at the Shiv Niwas Palace in Udaipur. Heena, an Engineer for a Commercial Real Estate Developer in New York and Akash, an International Business Developer for the NBA (yes brides and grooms-to-be, the NBA!!!) will be calling the bustling city of Bombay home within the next few months! We're so jealous she gets to shop for GREAT clothes without having to travel thousands of miles away.

We debuted our RK Mandap for the very first time at H&A's Wedding this past weekend. The Mandap was adorned with hanging leis of Ivory and Red Rose Petals. This is our first of three NEW 2009 Mandaps which we will be showcasing in different variations for months to come. Stay tuned followers! Contratulations Heena & Akash on a beautiful weekend!

P.S. We're loving July not only because 3 out of our 5 "out of state" brides (including Heena) proved that planning their Florida Weddings weren't so painful, but also because we have 6 family birthdays in the house and a family vacation coming up...woo hoo!

We apologize (once again) for the tardiness of our "SG Superlative Monday's" blog posts but, we do hope that you're enjoying images from our most recent events.

We've been wanting to post images from a photographer who has a vintage style of shooting and finally found one that we love! Today's Superlative goes to Meggie Velasco (www.meggievelasco.com), an amazing photographer from Knoxville, TN. When we stumbled upon Caroyln and Raj's Wedding images on FB, we HAD to ask if we could post them on our blog because they were some of the most unique wedding images we've seen. We're inspired by wedding images that are modernly retro. These images were shot in no fancy venue, just a casual and laid-back environment, which is what makes the picture even more perfect. So cool! We just couldn't decide on one pic, so we're posting two of our favs. Awesome work Meggie and thanks for allowing us to share your images.

Nanda & Joey (Reception)

Nanda and Joey were referred to us by our friends at The Schnebly's Winery (www.schneblywinery.com). That calls for a BIG THANKS to Peter Schnebly and his team for the referral. This was our second event at the winery and we were so excited because it is by far the most UNIQUE venue we've worked at yet, and for those of you who know us well, you know we love all things unique. A MUST SEE, if you haven't already done so.

Our aim at SG is to make each of our events personal by custom creating unique designs that complement our clients' vision. N&J envisioned the decor to be elegant and clean. Their colors were Rusty Orange, Gold and Lime Green.

We went with an all natural design, by using Natural Chiavari Chairs which were adorned with a combination of White & Orange Carnation leis and Gold bows. We used a Rusty Orange Pin Tuck table linen w/Gold Satin napkins. The centerpieces were a combination of tall sprays of Calla Lilies and Acrylic Containers w/Floating Candles.

N&J were such a pleasure to work with and we can't thank them enough for allowing Suhaag Garden to decorate for their special day! Congratulations Nanda & Joey on tying the knot!

Family Vacay!

First of all, many apologies to those of you who follow our blog and look forward to our Monday Superlatives. It's not that we haven't found any cool P/V's or P/V trends to blog about, it's just been a crazy month with so many beautiful events. So while we try to get our blog together, please enjoy our posts from our recent events.

On to whats going to be the highlight of our year! For many of you who know us, we're originally from Kenya, East Africa. We moved to Florida in 1996 and haven't had the opportunity to visit home since then, but crazily (is that a word?) enough we managed to find two consecutive weeks that worked for our entire family, to plan a vacation for this August. So, we're off, all 14 of us (parent's, spouses, cousins, grandparent's and all) on a 15 day tour in Kenya. We will be travelling between August 5th - August 24th, 2009.

Please note, we will not be available by phone at all for the duration of our trip, however will be periodically checking email. And now we're blogging about Disha's Anuj!

We had so much fun designing Disha & Anuj's Wedding Reception for many reasons, but mostly because she pretty much gave us her budget and the go ahead to do what we do best! We've been pretty lucky this year, we must admit with all the trusting personalities we've catered to. Somehow, it just makes our job so much easier!

We tried to cater to Disha's personality as best as we could while desiging her Reception, by bringing the simplest and most elegant touches to the ambiance of the ballroom. We can't help but point out that each and every one of her vendors talked about how super organized and on top of things she was through this whole process. It was much appreciated.

It's too bad that we never got a chance to meet Anuj (Disha's long-distance love, who lived a state way), until the day of the Wedding. But, don't fret Anuj, we heard all good things about you :-)

We can't blame this bride for having a roller coaster of a stressful (but rewarding) year! Since her graduation from Dental School, to moving to Tampa to finally call what she thought would be "home" , to find that she was soon to be Engaged to her long lost love in Atlanta just to realize she's moving right back home to West Palm Beach to start planning her wedding. Phew! And still, amongst all the moving and wedding planning she did, somehow she still found time to respond to our emails at all hours of the night! All brides deserve a relaxing honeymoon, but this bride deserves an extra long one!

Bella & Anuj (Engagement)

We thought we'd point out that this is the first of two June '09 events that we're doing, where the groom's name is Anuj. Must be "Anuj's" month (haha)! But, today we're blogging about Bella's Anuj :-)

We received a Thank You card from Anuj's mom, just a few days after we contracted with them for their Engagement Party. Just that speaks volumes of how nice of a family they are. This family of four Engineers (dad, mom, sister and the groom-to-be) welcomed Dr. Bella Patel (we had to say it, only because she just graduated and totally deserves it!) into their house with the Engagement Extravaganza they threw for the beautiful couple this past weekend. I'm envious of Bella, only because she's moving to where I spent 9 of the most fun years of my life...Tampa!

We have to point out that there's nothing more rewarding than when a bride calls us during her event, especially to thank us for what we did! We've said it before, but just that makes all the stress associated with our jobs well worth it. Thanks Bella!

Their wedding celebrations will be held in February of 2010, and we wish them nothing but the best. Congratulations on all the good that's happening to you both this year!

Neha & Nirav (Mehndi)

As the British say, Here Comes the "Punjabi" Bride...(and Groom). It's appropriate to start this blog off with a British saying, because after all the Photographer is British :-)

Even the modern Indian Bride and Groom can have fun with our Indian Village Themed decor setting, as did Neha and Nirav for their Mehndi Party. We spent 7 months putting together the details of N&N's Mehndi decor, which comprised of all the traditional elements of an Indian Village. Neha was dressed in a traditional Punjabi suit, which complemented the decor very nicely. The food canopies were all custom made for this couple's big day. Neha's family even went the extra mile, by bringing all the traditional Indian Cutlery from India!

This Monday we're blogging about another one of South Florida's finest Photographer's whom we met at the Bridal Show we exhibited at this past weekend. We have to mention, there were a couple of photographer's who caught our eye but this one stole the show. What's funny is, his name rang a bell immediately but we just couldn't pin point where from, until he showed us an album of a wedding he did which aired on Platinum Weddings!!! By popular demand, we have enabled the comments section of our blog. We originally decided not to because of the tremendously slow load times we were experiencing due to the large images we were uploading. However, we have since corrected the problem by creating labels for different categories (right column of the blog) and in addition limiting only three entries per page, so that you are able to easily navigate through our blog and maybe even leave us a comment somewhere along the way :-)

We blog about the events we do, in hopes to give our brides- and grooms-to-be some creative ideas, useful information about some of the best vendors in the event planning industry but most importantly provide a way for you to keep in touch with what we're up to. And so we can only hope that you continue following us on this new era of the "Blog World".

So when we're behind on BLOG, we're treading through mud to catch up, but when we're on a roll there's no stopping us...

We received a call yesterday from the producers of the nationally televised show on Lifetime Television, "GetMarried" to ask us if we were interested in filling the 8th of 10 spots for the Miami GetMarried Media Tour 2009!!! To say we were ecstatic would be an understatement! We were asked if we'd be interested in interviewing for a small editorial segment about Indian Wedding Decor for an upcoming broadcast. Are you kidding, we'll take the fame on television, even if it means 7 seconds...Haha!

GetMarried, (www.getmarried.com) hosted by Colin Cowie, premier lifestyle expert and celebrity event designer, airs on Lifetime weekday mornings at 7:30am ET/PT and posts daily on GetMarried.com after each broadcast. We will be interviewing in June and the show is scheduled to air sometime in the Fall. We will definately be posting the video on our blog as soon as it has been released and/or will blog before we go on. Thank you everyone for your support!

Admist of all the reading and research we constantly do on new decor and design trends, we find ourselves constantly browsing through various photographer websites/blogs gazing at the incredible talent out there; makes us why we never thought of "Engagement Photo Shoots" when we got married :-( Oh, well! We have NO real training in photography, but there's no denying when we stumble upon a breathtaking photograph. So we've decided to promote the valuable talent out there, by posting an SG favorite each week (Superlative Mondays) so that you can share in our amazement, which (who knows?) may even lead you to your dream photographer.

Ok, so this post has been a LONGGGGGGGG time coming - We're so sorry S&J for the delay.

First of all - Here's a shout out to Ushma Patel!!! We love referrals, because we truly believe our clients understand our "style" of decor, when they've attended one of our events. So, thank you Ushma for referring Saloni and Jigga to us, after attending Vandana and Tushar's Engagement!

After we met S&J we quickly learnt about their story and boy, what a quick romance, to an engagement, to a wedding! So happy for you guys! We were most excited when we found that Saloni is our partner in crime indeed, as she too is a Platinum Weddings Show Junkie.

Suhaag Garden debuted our very own NEW, custom made Acrylic Mandap on this beautiful couple's BIG DAY! We were so excited to introduce this structure to our collection of exclusive and contemporary Mandaps. We decorated the Mandap with all Burgundy and Green novelty flowers, to give the Mandap an added zing.

The Mehndi took place at the beautiful Paradise Cove (http://www.paradisecoveorlando.com/) with Jignesh surprising his bride-to-be by making his grand entrance into the party on a boat.

With over 700 guests in attendance, S&J pronounced their vows at the Bahai Shrine Temple. The Reception continued at the Bahai with the couple surprising their guests (including their family) with a very entertaining first dance, which surfaced a swarm of guests clapping around the dance floor, and as a result blocked our view from watching it :-( No worries, we've been promised a copy of the DVD!

Designed by our very own bride, Saloni's teal dress was where our collaborated vision began. We made use of two of the most vibrant & unique combination of colors; teal being the the color of her dress with an accent of burgundy decor. We used over 3000 Black Magic Roses (approximately 120,000 Rose petals - and that's no exaggeration) to custom create S&J's Rose Petal Chandelier Arrangements. The alternate round table centerpieces, were a spray of Green Hydrageas, Mokara Orchids, Black Magic Roses and Green Poms. The long table centerpieces comprised of our very own custom made Acrylic Risers and Containers. Thank you guys for inviting us to be a part of your events and here's a BIG Thank You for the testimonial you wrote us :-)

With the perfect ambiance, S&J hired no other than the the perfect photography team, Novel Photography (http://www.novelphotography.com/). Mona (who we just adore) and her team are simply AMAZING. You did an awesome job Mona, you never seize to amaze us with your creativity!

We're Back...

We're dropping in to say a quick hello and tell you a little bit about our fantastic trip to India. This was our third and shortest trip to India, but probably the most memorable. As we mentioned in our previous blog, a family wedding called for this trip and needless to say, we were so anxious for obvious reasons (well um, because we love weddings :-))

And, of course we're going to blog about the decor & design :-) This was the first wedding we ever attended or were a part of for that matter, in India so we had even more of a reason to be so excited. We tend to gear more towards the eclectic, modern style of decor in our work, however we definitely appreciated the traditional designs that are still so commonly being used in India. We're suckers for all things floral and were so excited to see the colors and varieties of flowers that were so easily available in India - We were seriously in a haven of flowers! And might we add considerably less expensive than what we are exposed to here (not fair!)

We were most impressed by the Mehndi (Henna) artistry. In all the weddings that we've attended in the past years, we have never seen such unique and contemporary designs mixed with a traditional flare. We will definitely be posting some shots of the designs we got done, so you can see what we're talking about!!!! In addition, the food at the wedding and related ceremonies (as expected) was impeccable!

Overall, it was an amazing experience and we only wish the couple (Vandana and Tushar) all the happiness in the world :-) You guys looked amazing! Oh, and how can we go to India and not share some fashion trends/news with you - check out the designer, KALKI in Mumbai the next time you visit (www.kalki.co.in), you won't be disappointed - Happy Shopping!

So, what's in store for us now? Well, we're almost in June (are we midway through the year, already?!?!?) and we have some very exciting events coming up for some coolio couples. June milestones comprise of Neha & Nirav's Fantabulous Mehndi, Bella & Anuj's Engagement Extravaganza and Disha and Anuj's Glamorous Wedding Reception...stay tuned followers!

K&V(Wedding)

K&V were married in the Grand Lawn of the Ritz Carlton, Key Biscayne, Miami. With nothing less than the perfect day and perfect location between the ocean and the hotel, K&V pronounced their wedding vows in a traditional Hindu ceremony. The ceremony was followed by some cocktails which immediately lead into the Reception in the Ritz Carlton Ballroom, which overlooked the ocean.

These two together couldn't be more perfect for each other. They're two of two - Pharmacists and STRICT Vegetarians! K&V are two of the kindest couple's we've ever worked with! We were so well taken care of at their wedding; Not only did they constantly send us emails ensuring we had everything we needed for that day, but they even went as far as ordering lunch for us while we were setting up!

We truly hope we fulfilled ALL their expectations, because it was a pleasure working with them.

So, we're gearing up for quite a hectic but FUN weekend; Kate & Varun's Wedding and then our trip to India, and we get just what we needed to put an even bigger smile on our faces. We never get a chance to publicly thank our client's for writing us such sweet thank you notes, but it is without a doubt appreciated, and let's just say, it makes all the stress associated with our jobs so DARN worth it :-)

Although, we publish all the testimonials we receive on our website, we just wanted to give a public shout to to Saloni and Jignesh for the pleasant surprise we received in our inbox this week. We've been dying to blog about this couple (who have been EVER so patient) but, we promise their stunning wedding pictures, are coming very soooooon....

Suhaag Garden...Exposed!

We often get asked where the name of our business originated from and although we've often told "parts" of the story verbally, we thought now would be a good opportunity to spread the word of what defines the name of our business, Suhaag Garden. This is for all our curious blog readers.

When Googled the word Suhaag, the definition varies slightly from dictionary to dictionary. The Oxford Hindi-English dictionary defines Suhaag as the "auspicious state of Wifehood". Wikipedia defines the literal meaning of Suhaag as "good fortune". And, various discussion boards across the WWW define the word Suhaag as "a Husband". So, what's the real definition? Who knows (you might?), but we've settled for a combination of the above - hey it suits our business :-)

In reality, Suhaag Garden came from a personal wedding experience. It was in 2007...It was what officially qualified us as designers; It was the first wedding story of both of our families; It was the creation of our "Garden" Wedding...Suhaag Garden - Jilna & Jigar.

Subject: Re: K&J Congratulations!

HA! It was only appropriate to start this blog off with a K&J subject line.

Khushboo and Jay initially expressed interest in our services, before Jay had formally popped the question! Now, that's commitment! However, shortly thereafter the couple decided that they didn't want to take on the stress of planning their wedding here, and thus were off to the motherland - India (or so they thought :-)). We were a little bummed, that we wouldn't have had part in their lavish affair, but we completely understood and wished them well. In December, we got another call from Khush, stating plans had changed again, and the wedding was going to be held here. We were ever so thrilled to hear from her again.

They decided to undertake our Platinum Event Planning Package, which included Decor & Design services as well as Event Planning Services. In the short time that we had to plan/design their wedding, we became so close to this lovely couple. We think we may have just broken an email record, with the amount of emails we traded with each other in any ONE given day!!!

Here's a VERY BIG THANKS to Khushboo, for being one of the nicest, most responsive and organized brides ever. We love Khush to death, and not just because she never fails to remind us of how much she appreciated us, by sending us random thank you emails, e-cards and Facebook shoutouts but, also because she is one of our most faithful blog stalkers and constantly reminds us to update our blog. Thanks Khush, for keeping us on our toes :-) And Jay, although a little quiet and always too busy to wedding plan, never failed to remind us to keep within budget...HA! Got to love him for that.

Our experience in planning their wedding extravaganza was undeniably rewarding. Their wedding took place on Singer Island on a family owned beach front property, Amrit (www.amrit.com). Their Garba and Reception took place at the beautiful and unique President's Country Club, in West Palm Beach. Khush and Jay's family and friend's traveled from all over the world...Africa, India & England. And her family and friend's weren't the only one's traveling from miles away. We hired the ever so amazing and likable Greta and Amber, from Smitten Photos (www.smittenphotos.com) who traveled from Albany, GA to capture this beautiful couple's wedding events. Although, Khush caught the nasty bug going around two days before the festivities began, it didn't stop her from having the time of her life. Drugged up on all sorts of medication, Khushboo looked more radiant than ever. We seriously could go on and on about Khush, Jay, their Wedding celebrations and their love for each other, but we're so eager to post some pictures (that just blew us away - Thanks again Greta and Amber) so we'll make it a point to stop now :-)

Catching up....Updates, here and there...

Just a heads up - we're off to the hustle and bustle (Horn OK PLEASE) of India for one week at the beginning of May. A family wedding calls for this trip, so we're really excited about finally relaxing and enjoying a wedding from afar (not really, it's still a Family Wedding, but we'll hope for some downtime at some point :-)). We will be available by email ONLY for the most part of our short 10 day trip, so feel free to drop us a line and we'll get back to you as soon as we're able to find an Internet Cafe...HA! Just feels awkward saying that.

We're a little behind on blog, but we promise to bring you some updates this week! Here's one BIG THANK YOU to Kristi for being one of the nicest, most soft spoken brides we have worked with! She's got to be the only person we know, who has a personalized voice mail just for her husband, Travus. And, although we never got a chance to get to know Travus, who has been stationed in Alaska (and, yes that's where they will be living, how cool is that?!?!), we heard all good things about him.

We had more than just being USF Alumni's (Go Bulls!) in common with Kristi; we were also both legally married to our spouses before we officially walked down the Aisle :-) Kristi & Travus are probably on their 10 day road trip to Alaska as we blog about them and we only wish them the very best in their new lives together.

Kamrul & Subrina (Mehndi/Holud & Wedding)

Last March (shortly after we incorporated the business) we decided to take part in the 15th Asian Food Fair and Cultural Show in Delray Beach, hosted by the Bangladesh Association of South Florida, where we met this weekend's headline couple Kamrul (KC) and Subrina. And, here we are one year later, blogging about their beautiful wedding...TIME FLIES :-)

The Mehndi took place at the Royal Palm Civic Center.

The couple, who have known each other for a very long time, pronounced their wedding vows at the Marriott in Palm Beach Gardens. We're dying to see pictures of the gorgeous couple, and will definitely post some pictures as soon as we receive them. But for now, we just want to publicly thank them for allowing us to be a part of their big day. Congratulations Guys!! (www.in-photos.photoreflect.com), here are Subrina & KC's Wedding pictures (leave it to us to provide a sneak peak of their collage of beautiful pictures, maybe even before they've seen them :-)). More than 500 people attended S&K's wedding! We didn't get a chance to speak to them at the wedding, however we did take a sneak peak in the room before we left and Subrina and her beau just looked stunning in the distance under the Mandap. The Mandap was White with intricate Gold designs, which complemented her traditional and very intricate lengha. We added a delicate touch to the Mandap, with hanging fresh flower garlands and crystal teardrops.

We truly enjoyed being a part of their wedding events. Congratulations you guys!

Kelsey (Quince)

We had the pleasure of decorating for Kelsey's Quinceanera a couple of weekends ago. This was the second Quince we decorated for since SG's inception, and we found it to be so cool. We never anticipated landing jobs outside of Weddings so quickly, just because we didn't have much experience doing these sorts of events, so we have to thank Tania (Kelsey's mom)and Kelsey for taking a chance on us :-) From a decor perspective, the setup was much like a Wedding Reception, but the customs and traditions entailed in the party, were very different. Kelsey changed 2-3 times - there's a "common" between Quince's and Indian Weddings...HA!

The Quince was at the Keys Gate Golf & Country Club in Homestead, FL. Tania and Kelsey were such a pleasure to work with. We're glad we were able to capture her event - and thank you Tania for the awesome testimonial!

Here's a funny...When A&A first pulled up outside our showroom in a cop's car, we were startled for about 5 seconds. To our surprise, they were sent to us from the Keys Gate Golf & Country Club, and were looking for a decorator for their upcoming wedding. PHEW!

Alfredo, a Lieutenant for Miami Dade Fire Rescue and Adriane, an IT Manager of a prestigious Law Firm were yet another referral from our local friends Amber and Lisa - Thank you girls!

We truly enjoyed working with this couple. They were so professional about everything, which we always appreciate! Again, just such an easy going couple to work with. We enjoyed every minute of putting their Wedding/Reception decor collection together.

A few days after the wedding, Adriane sent us an over the top email, with praises beyond words. She noticed EVERY SINGLE (literally) accent to all the extra's we threw in for her (which we all know, is understandably rare for a bride on her BIG day). She made sure to point out what she loved about each accent and at what point throughout the evening she noticed it. We were completely impressed with that! We will definitely keep in touch them! Nilesh & Payal (Engagement)

Nil and Payal got Engaged in the Jewish Temple, Temple Beth-El, in Fort Myers, FL this past December. After getting to know Payal, I realized she was so much like me. VERY much organized and detail-oriented. She had a calender of what needed to be done when, had an answer for all the information we ever needed from her, and if she didn't know the answer, she knew exactly where to get it from as quickly as she could! Seriously, she even had a day to day to-do list for Nil. Organized? We would say so!

She is TRULY a Gator Fan! Her words verbatim..."I am a HUGE Gator Fan, and there is a game on the night of my Engagement. I HAVE to figure out how my friends, Nil and I can watch the game that night, it is VERY important." And, needless to say, they sure did!

Although, Payal is quite a girly girl, too. She definately wanted to go all out for the Engagement. We were so thrilled to learn that Nil and Payal were over the top, when they walked into the banquet hall that evening. Our job is so much more rewarding, when our client's are truly happy with our service(s). We have to point out, that we've have never had someone's mom thank us, as many times as Payal's mom did. You're very welcome, Poonam Aunty!

Nil & Payal recently contracted with SG for their upcoming wedding celebrations in November 2009. Now, we just have to figure out how they can watch the GATOR game on that day...HA! Stay tuned for their wedding blog...

Tushar & Vandana (Engagement)

Before we start blogging about this beautiful couple, we have to give a shout out to Vandana for taking a chance on Shelly Edwards, from Shelly Edwards Photography (www.shellyedwards.com). What an AMAZING set of photographs. This was her first Indian Event, and boy were we impressed!

And now, just as importantly about the couple...They met through mutual friends and fell in love ever so quickly. Tushar is one of the most mellow guys we've ever met. And, Vandana...well let's just say she is so darn happy and in love.

They will be getting married in India this coming May, so unfortunately we won't have the opportunity to decorate for their wedding. But, we do wish them both the best of luck and a very happy marriage.

Nimesh & Teena (Vidhi/Mehndi/Wedding)

Nimesh, an Accountant and Teena, founder and "Dean" of University of Doglando (www.universityofdoglando.com) got married at the beautiful Schnebly's Winery (www.schneblywinery.com)in South Florida.

Here's a shout out to Trevor, the young Beagle who brought the couple together early last year. Teena might be best known as a philosophical entrepreneur and the most charitable woman within their circle of friends - She even did some volunteer work on their honeymoon in Cambodia...PROPS! (Read about it @ http://www.universityofdoglando.com/elephants.html)

We know this couple very well, so that calls for a "little" fun making :-) Anyone who knows Teena (especially Nim), knows that she would rather have shown up in ripped jeans and her UofD t-shirt to their wedding, if her mom and husband agreed to it (Yeah, right...Haha!) On the contrary, Nim (as the saying goes, opposites attract), might just have more suits and ties, then our new President. Ok, so he's not President Barack Obama, but he does wear a suit to work everyday - Forgiven, and SO KIDDING :-)

We had an amazing time prepping for their lavish affair and do wish them both much success in their professional and married lives.

This unique dual Reception was the perfect setting for the these two couples. Amar and Hinal, who wed the week before Nim and Teena, are truly a match made in heaven. Although, we weren't able to capture their beautiful wedding festivities, we were so thrilled to be a part of their dual Wedding Reception, with Nimesh and Teena.

Amar, a Senior Software Developer for Lockheed Martin, is nothing short of SMART! And, his other half, Hinal is currently still a student, but right up his alley. The two together are bound to make millions one day, we're banking on it!

Brijesh & Beena (Engagement)

Beena, a soon to be Pharmacist (Woo-Hoo Congrats!) and Brijesh, an Engineer for a prestigious company, did a consultation with us early last year. There plan was to have a BIG Engagement Party here, because they were going to get married in India that following year (which now, has already happened :-))

When they first came to us, they both said they wanted to "WOW" their guests when they walked in. We were so excited! We immediately suggested that they go with a very colorful set of decor, because Beena's outfit was very colorful.

With B&B's good judgment of going with Mahogany Chiavari Chairs, and Mahogany Charger Plates, their table settings looked beautiful. The colors of their linens complemented Beena's outfit, and the stage setting blended in very nicely with the LED centerpieces.

It was a pleasure to work with B&B. We wish you both much success and happiness in years to come.

Nimesh & Teena (Engagement)

We had the pleasure of decorating for Nimesh and Teena's Engagement which look place at the Cape Coral Yacht Club, in Cape Coral, Florida. From the moment Nimesh and his mom asked us to decorate for their event up until the day of the Engagement, we had little to no communication with them in regards to the design & decor. They told us they wanted something elegant and nice and gave us the budget. Nimesh and Teena both wanted to be surprised. We were so honored that they had so much confidence/trust in us and although nerves started piling on, we went full force.

We used a Wooden Chuppah/Mandap structure for the actual ceremony, to give them a nice focal point for pictures. It was decorated with hanging fresh flower garlands and candle globes, with scattered fresh rose petals on the Acrylic Roof Top, for a more contemporary feel. The centerpieces were an assortment of tall Keyholes from which we hung Fresh Flower Rose Balls and Lanterns.

Very much in anticipation, we awaited their arrival and were so pleased with the looks on their faces. They were so happy with what we did, and didn't stop thanking us. Congratulations Nimesh and Teena! Stay tuned for their wedding blog!

Aida (Quince)

Unfortunately, I don't have have a picture of Aida, however I definitely intend to get one for the blog. Aida was a referral from SG's kick off event (Florida International University's Indian Student Association's Annual Ball). That calls for a big shout out to Asheeka Sinha and her team, for allowing us to gain some exposure from their event :-)

This was a unique event for us, because we had never been afforded the opportunity to decorate for a Quince, but definitely a rewarding one. We were quite honored, I must say. But, at the same time, quite anxious. Aida was such a pleasure to work with. She was quite particular about what she wanted (which we always appreciate), so we really wanted to make sure we did everything right.

We used our Moroccan Collection to create a Stage for her, which is where she was going to make her grand entrance from. The stage was very colorful and very Moroccan - We used Lanterns, Canopies, Fabrics, Pillars, Low Seating's, Silk Pillows and even a Camel (which she reminded me NOT to forget about many times :-)).

Thank you Aida, and thank you for inviting us to the party! I was amazed at how elaborate these celebrations can get.
